Quote from The Crack at the Edge of the World

Hana Baba is the co-host of "CrossCurrents", the evening newsmagazine on KALW Public Radio 91.7FM in San Francisco (an NPR station). She interviewed me June 5, 2009 and the interview aired on June 15th in the Bay Area at 5pm. If you’d like to hear the interview, click here:

Squiblets:

From the San Francisco Chronicle, Friday, June 2, 2006, Leah Garchik's column

"Chrissie Martenstein, who was one of the stars of the recent 100th anniversary commemoration of the quake of 1906, celebrated her 109th birthday at the Big 4 on Sunday. Ron Henggeler, who she says is her favorite waiter, came in on his day off to do the serving honors. Martenstein's longevity prescription, as expressed in April: "my martini every afternoon at 5.''
