San Francisco Street scenes and glimpsed views in Golden Gate Park

For all its contradictions. . . San Francisco remains a beacon, always with that dangerous streak of insanity, built in at birth. Herb Caen

Beginning in May of this year, I began documenting in earnest, the historic restoration of the Murphy Windmill in Golden Gate Park.
Several times every week during this period, I would drive in the morning out to the worksite to photograph the latest developments.
Many of these windmill restoration photos can be viewed on my web site. http://www.ronhenggeler.com/Windmill_gallery.html
(Page 33 was uploaded just last night. . . So now, nearly 1,200 images of the windmill restoration have been posted. . .and there are still more on the way.)

On these many morning drives out to the windmill, I always had my camera next to me between the seats. Occasionally, while I was stopped for a red light or a stop sign, I would briefly pick up the camera and snap a picture or two.

Following this text is a collection of some of these candid images taken during the morning drive out to the windmill. Some of them I’ve sent out to my mailing list before, but I’m including them again, because they are very much a part of this story.
