San Francisco City Hall celebrates 100 years

Tonight, Friday June 19th, my favorite building in the city, San Francisco's City Hall, is celebrating its 100 year birthday with big party. 12,000 to 15,000 people are expected to attend. The public celebration of our City Hall’s centennial will take place from 6 pm – 11 pm at Civic Center Plaza. The event will have live entertainment, featuring local musical talent performing hits from different eras throughout the past century, many gourmet food trucks, and punctuated by a not to miss after-dark multi-media projection experience on the exterior of City Hall! Tonight also marks the start of the U.S. Mayors Conference which will bring 277 mayors from across the country to the Union Square Hilton hotel. President Obama is scheduled to be in San Francisco this afternoon to speak at the Mayors Conference. Later today, attendees of the Mayors Conference will attend a private celebration under the City Hall rotunda. My favorite building in San Francisco is our City Hall. I live only six blocks away and have clear views of the building from my windows. I've been photographing the building for many years. Here are some of my collected images. Happy Birthday City Hall !
