Laying pipeline at the construction site south of Market at 4th and 16th Streets.
The fresh water in the hole is probably coming from the spring originating at Twin Peaks that was driven underground as the city developed in the late 19th century. The area of this construction site is all landfill in the old Mission Bay area.
