This coming Monday, November 23rd, I will be showing a select group of my photos at the Mark Hopkins Hotel on Nob Hill in San Francisco.
I will be displaying 50 of my favorite photographs that I’ve enlarged especially for this event. The photos are poster size 20 inch by 30 inch and I have to say, they’re gorgeous at this large size. (They’re also for sale.) Along with these photographs, I will also have on display my own collection of historic Nob Hill images including the famous Eadweard Muybridge panoramic view of San Francisco from 1878. The show is part of the Nob Hill Neighborhood Association’s annual end-of-the-year holiday get-together. The Association’s meeting begins at 6pm in the Hall of the Dons. My photo display will be in the adjoining room on the entire west wall of the historic Peacock Court Ballroom. If you live in San Francisco and happen to be in the neighborhood on Monday between 3pm and 7pm, stop in for a look. You won’t be disappointed. The beautiful gold-leafed Peacock Court is steeped in history. During World War II, the Big Bands played to full houses of servicemen going to or coming from the war in the Pacific. Lines of uniformed servicemen and their dates would stretch down and around the block waiting to get in to the Peacock Court or the bar at the Top of the Mark. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Ron
