Contrails and Charlie the pelican

Charlie is a wild pelican that frequents the old fishing pier next to the Warming Hut in the Presidio of San Francisco.
Despite the name the regular fisherman have given her, Charlie is a female pelican.
She’s a bit of a friendly beggar who’s learned over time that a handout of chum is always a possibility and never far away.

While photographing her this afternoon I looked up in time to see and photograph a jet’s contrail touch the top of the Golden Gate Bridge’s south tower.
A moment later the contrail was already drifting off to the north and no longer intersecting the tower.
