This old photo was found at a garage sale in Pacifica, California.
It is a photo taken on December 10, 1908 at the Saint Francis in San Francisco.
It shows the annual dance and supper of the San Francisco Lodge # 3 B.P.O. Elks Club.
This particular 1908 Christmas Season event must of been very special to the people in this photograph.
Both the Saint Francis Hotel and the San Francisco Elks Club had lost everything in the earthquake and fire of 1906.
The photograph was made by R.J. Waters and Co. at 717 Market Street in San Francisco.
(Being at 717 Market, the photographer and his studio must have also recently rebuilt and relocated after the destruction of San Francisco in 1906.)
