Bay to Breakers, Maitri Bliss, and Stinson Beach

On Sunday morning, over 30,000 people participated in the 102nd Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco. I live a half block from Alamo Square, situated at the top of the Hayes Street Hill. I went up to the square this year to photograph the festivities. Later in the day on Sunday, Dave and I went to Maitri’s annual BLISS event. Maitri is the only AIDS-specific residential care facility in California focusing on the underserved community of those dying of or severely debilitated by AIDS. I volunteer photo services and donate photographs to the Maitri cause. At this years BLISS Event, the entertainment included Mary Wilson, legendary founding member of The Supremes, Spencer Day, award winning modern jazz artist, and Na-Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu, nationally acclaimed dance company. On Monday, Dave and I went on a road trip north along Highway One, to the Muir Beach Overlook and Stinson Beach. Here are some of my photos from the weekend.
