On Sunday November 9th, Dave and I went to see the new visiting show at the Legion of Honor:
Houghton Hall: Portrait of an English Country House
The show features paintings by Thomas Gainsborough, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Andrea del Sarto, Artemisia Gentileschi, and John Singer Sargent. Houghton Hall evokes the elegance of aristocratic life in an English country house from the 18th through the 20th centuries with its distinguished collections of silver, marble sculpture, Sèvres porcelain, and more.
